Conan, I'd rethink Jeb if I were you. I'm against political dynasties as much as the next guy - but he deserves a fair look.
http://www.ontheissues.org/Jeb_Bush.htmObviously things I don't like and I'm not advocating for him. But it appears at a glance that he can be pragmatic and he is willing to change his position (see, e.g., gay marriage). He isn't a tea party ideologue or a religious right candidate, so that's something.
Thus far, I haven't seen a candidate from either side that has be excited.
If Jeb’s last name were anything else, I think he’d have a chance. I’m fine with where he stands on the issues from a pure electability stand-point, I believe people are tired of political dynasties. I want to see a genuine moderate from either the Democrats or Republicans (sorry a third party has no chance) who is not from a family of political dynasties.
Obama is nowhere close to a moderate, Bush II might have been were he not beholden to the far right elements of the GOP on social issues. When I think of moderates, I think of Clinton or Reagan. Love them or hate them, history shows they were able to bring both sides to the table.
